OVERVIEW

Utah COVID Tracker started as an email subscription that provided a daily summary of COVID-19 data for the State of Utah and a choice of local health department. Subscribers received up-to-date case count and testing data conveniently in their email inbox.

All data was scraped from coronavirus.utah.gov. The State of Utah typically updated Coronavirus data every day between noon and 2:00 PM. Once the new data was posted, the daily email was sent to registered users.

Each email included:
  • Prevous day's case count
  • Seven-day average daily case count
  • Change in average daily case count
  • Average daily cases per 100k people
  • Average daily testing
  • Average positive test rate
  • Current ICU utilization
  • Vaccination rates
